If you venture into the depths of
Jack's Bar & Grill, you'll discover the 404 Wine Bar, where the dim lighting, cozy fireplace, exposed brick walls and old jazz music make you feel as if you've been transported to a chic European wine cellar. Victorian and French influences surround you, letting you forget the outside world.
Find your way to the back room, tuck yourself into a cushy chair (or one of the tables made specifically for two) in front of one of three blazing fireplaces and select from a premier wine list featuring 20 varieties from 12 different countries. Complement your order with some fancy cheeses; a flight of the dairy delights, served with seasonal fruits, spiced walnuts, olives, fig jam and a baguette, costs $15. Overall, the menu here is a little pricier and fancier than the grill's (which you can order from as well), but every bit as delicious. Specialty entrees ($6.95-$18.95) include the filet mignon, grilled center-cut pork chop and wild mushroom ravioli; there's also a selection of pizzas for under $11.
Special parties can celebrate year-round in the beautiful outdoor garden, adorned with white lights and a little sense of magic. Indoors or out, the bar accommodates private parties for all occasions and hosts wine classes on Mondays.
