Need another reason to drink? How about a full roster of them? Just when you thought you had tabs on all the places to get a wet one, another Golden Tee machine is ordered, more Tanqueray is stocked and a new bar opens it doors. Here are some recent scene-joiners to add to your to-drink list, plus some that are on the way.
Bottoms Up!
Construct an elegant evening at Rebar
Though it's named after the building material used to reinforce concrete structures, this swanky bar and lounge in the Trump International Hotel & Tower doesn't resemble anything close to a construction site. Expect intimate environs, breathtaking views and some high-powered, high-priced cocktails.
Party island-style at Uncle Fatty's Rum Resort
No man is an island, but this bar certainly is, and it's got the sand, tunes and spring break-inspired drinks to prove it. Whether you want fish bowls full of booze or just a cooler full of beers (delivered to your table so you don't have to interrupt your beachy dreams), this Lakeview bar delivers.
Get a taste of the good life at Angels and Mariachis
The decor of Angels and Mariachis is an aggressively assembled affair. Calavera skeletons on the walls, lucha libre masks on the bar shelves and cowboy portraits stare you down from all around, daring you to think of another Mexican cultural touchstone that they have not added. If you can tear yourself away, you'll enjoy a wide variety of tequilas and Mexican fare.
Idle on the Isle at O'Shaughnessy's Public House
This family-friendly pub brings a little bit of Ireland to Chicago, from imported stained glass windows to an all-day Irish breakfast. Still, the flat-screen digital televisions (oddly out of place above a built-in dark wood fireplace) tuned to baseball remind you which side of the pond you're on.
Get in the game at Harry Caray's Tavern
You know how there are cigar bars that offer a little food and drink on the side? Well, this is a TV bar that does the same. There are possibly more TVs than people, even on game day when it's packed so full of coeds you'll have flashbacks to your college days. The food may not be steakhouse-caliber, but with 14 different burgers available, we think everyone will be mighty happy.
Barely Buzzed
Crossroads Public House
This Lincoln Park sports bar serves up traditional fare, and presumably makes a good place to meet.
Flat Iron
This neighborhood tavern replaced The Note in Wicker Park.
Angels & Kings
This River North Lounge comes to you from Fall Out Boy's (and Ashlee Simpson's) Pete Wentz, among others.
The Pony
This two-story bar and grill from the owner of Lottie's hit Lakeview in late June.
Logan Bar & Grill
The people behind Black Beetle and Northside Bar and Grill opened this Logan Square spot in June.
1914
Located in the back of Red Ivy in Wrigleyville, this speakeasy-themed bar is aimed at those in the know.
Bull & Bear
The owners of Stone Lotus bring an upscale sports bar to the River North neighborhood. Watch the game inside, or watch the people walking by on the spacious sidewalk cafe.
C-View
The Affinia Chicago's rooftop lounge, an offshoot of the upscale C-House restaurant downstairs, opened just in time for the summer.
Still Sober
Loft Six Ten
Open late and with lounge-style seating, this Wicker Park spot will cater to everyone from decked-out nightcrawlers to local regulars when it opens in July or August.
