In the shadow of Wrigley Field, Bar Celona is a haven for those who value a sporty atmosphere more than sports. Funky in a low-key way, the bar glows with '70s gold while offering a good mix of today's tunes and an eclectic menu in an "Eat Well, Drink Better" move.

Spanish, Mexican, American, and a hint of Italian recipes are served tapas-style, with panes and burgers rounding out the offerings. Choose from dressed up eats like a turkey burger with a side of finladia cranberry mayo, or munch on tapas like roasted red pepper and pesto hummus, chipotle and orange barbecue fajitas and sangria chicken. Though portions are small, prices are even smaller (generally $4.25-$7.50), especially when you opt for a daily special. A burger with fries runs $2 on Monday; Sunday features selected tapas at $3.

Drinks are also affordably priced, especially when you shake things up with $5 martinis on Friday and $2 sangria on Thursday. Picky about your drinks? Get a bargain on whatever poison you pick on Wednesday, which features half off all drinks. In terms of tasty poison, you can plunk down $15 for a large pitcher of the house specialty, sangria, or take the $6 martini route with flavor choices like watermelon and sour apple.

There's more than food and drink to be had: Two HDTV plasma screen TVs keep you up on events, a glass-front garagesque door opens on warmer nights, and DJs spin Top 40 and hip-hop on weekends.
