Won’t be making it to New Orleans this year? Blue Bayou happens to be the next best thing. This Creole castle serves up everything from gumbo and fried green tomatoes to po’ boys and sweet potatoes. If you’re a sports fan/Cajun food lover/sweets freak, there’s a TV so you won’t miss the game, crawfish you can chow down on and awesome pecan pie. It’s almost too good to be true. Blue Bayou also offers traditional bar food items; check out the Dirty Turtle martini, a mix of sweet pineapple juice and some good old Southern Comfort. Karaoke takes over on Thursdays, and Sunday brunch is too down-South indulgent to miss.
