Proprietor Chris clearly wants his establishment to be a genuine pool hall; greeting patrons as they enter the Jefferson Park building is a movie poster of "The Color of Money," a smattering of photos of other pool-related movies and a poem called "Philosophy and Pool." As you ascend the stairs to the second-story hall, you also see various memorabilia from tourneys decades past.
Although the front sign claims that 41 tables are inside, in reality there are about half that number. Even so, there is usually a free spot to rack up a game, and plenty of friendly people around to shoot with. If you aren't shooting, you can occupy yourself with the one TV off to the side of the room, set among the stacks of boxes that dominate the far wall. Chris can't cook you any food, since there is no kitchen on the premises. But if you're hungry, the downright gigantic snack bar can tide you over until the next meal.
