Batavia apparently isn't shy about making good use of its riverfront property. This attractive, solidly built brick building sits on the banks of the Fox River in the downtown area of the nearby suburb. The third location in the growing Fox's chain, this pizza joint has been cranking them out west of Chicago since 1973.
No one makes pizza quite like the Irish, and Fox's definitely has an Irish bent. The word "pub" is in the restaurant's web address for a reason, the nightly specials reflect that: Mondays and Saturdays feature half-price drafts, and Thursdays offer $2 domestic bottles. These deals make heading over to enjoy a pizza and an outdoor seat on the river very attractive indeed.
The "World Famous" pizza on offer here is tasty, but the ingredients won't blow any minds. You've had all these toppings before, but what Fox's lacks in originality it makes up for in quality. If you feel like going in a non-pizza direction, there are entrees available as well, from a humble cheeseburger all the way on up to a $22 plate of prime rib.
Average cost: $10-$20
