Husband-and-wife duo Madonna and Rob Wallace's first foray into a restauranthood marries Rob's big-plate pasta teachings from his Italian grandmother and some workingman staples from New York strip steaks to slabs of ribs and meatloaf. The place is charmed by Madonna's Gladstone Park – their resident 'hood – budget-friendly, mostly Italian wine list and hospitality.

Taking the place of an old Tex-Mex failure, some stock Sinatra flows about kitsch portraits from babies to post-war ladies making a mess of spaghetti, with staff rounding out the picture with handwritten ties asking the restaurant's rhetorical namesake – "got vino?" - if you're at the bar.

It's certainly not fine dining territory, with the aforementioned workingman ribs and sausage, peppers and fry-ables dotting the bar and much of the dining room. Some veal and poached pear desserts (Fridays and Saturdays) and a soon-to-be rooftop patio tease well outside the family set.
