Hop Haus' initial River North location was so popular that the eatery/brewhouse has expanded with a Rogers Park outpost.
The neighborhoods may differ, but both locations feature a focus on solid beer choices and hearty food to pair. The eatery serves more than half a dozen (mostly cheese-based) appetizers, wraps, salads and 20 different kinds of big burgers that range from about $9 to $11 – such as the Smokehouse, served with Gouda and Swiss cheese, bacon, roasted red pepper and chiptole sauce.
Hop Haus also offers nearly 32 different beers, ranging from good old Miller Lite to Reissdorf Kolsch, a sweet German brew. Most are in the $5 to $9 range. Not a beer fan? The restaurant also serves up an extensive list of wines by the glass or bottle.
Average cost: $10-$20
