Jerry Kleiner did it again. If you've been to Red Light, Room 21 or Carnivale, you know what I mean. His trademark oversize Alice in Wonderland decor is in full force in this long-awaited Hyde Park restaurant, featuring warm tones and large handmade lamps and mirrors.
The food's not what I would call cheap, but for a great night out you don't feel like you’re getting ripped off either. Kleiner partnered with his longtime chef Chris Barron to prepare a menu full of American dishes like glazed salmon ($25) and BBQ braised beef short ribs ($24), and some less common bites, like the pear endive salad (with roast beets and hazelnut for $8). The wine list offers some fairly affordable choices ($7-$8 a glass). Reservations are recommended, but you can always grab a seat at the bar if you can't find a table. You can also host a private party in the (soon to be opened) private mezzanine.
