Without its beer garden, dressed in flat screens and sunshine, McGinny’s would simply be an off-the-strip Old Town dive, with $3 drafts and $.25 wings.
Otherwise, it’s a notoriously understaffed watering hole with employees equally tuned to entertaining themselves, as they are patrons, especially when it comes to volume levels of the stereo.
Service aside, it's a joint you’ll always have space to breathe, as most people of the neighborhood will flock inside the triangle on Wells. Within the confines of McGinny's, the air may be stuffy, but you sit with elbow room, and you’ll leave with a heavier pocket. As the aforementioned $3 drink specials go, decent pub grub like a build-your-own burger option with pico de gallo and avocado diversity, and health-minded sandwich wraps served with sides of veggies, go for around $9. And don’t forget those $.25 wings on Tuesdays.
