Looking for a trendy bar with a fancy food and drink list? Don't go to Mulligan's. A true hole-in-the-wall, this Irish pub is all about the gritty bar basics: beer, darts and whiskey.
Mulligan's attracts a good mix of drinkers with two things in common—their casual attire (picture lots of flannel shirts and jeans) and their obvious love of dark, indgy bars. Mondays and Tuesdays bring in the hard-core darters (Mulligan's is a part of the Windy City Darters league), who take up residence at the four dartboards in the back. Other nights attract a mellower crew, all looking to kick back and watch the game on one of the many TV sets.
When they're not darting and watching, Mulligan's customers are throwing down the booze. With no food to be found, the focus stays planted on the 25 beers (18 on tap) and the whiskey. True to its Irish pub status, there are specials on Guinness ($4) and Jameson ($3.50 per shot) every single night.
