Rincon de Tabasco is a non-stop, unapologetic party and good-time machine.
Best of all, they do it their way. Take Monday nights, for example. Whereas most bars on the North Side use that night to put butts in seats with specials on buffalo chicken wings and draft beers, Rincon sets aside its entire menu and has the kitchen focus on mass-producing Empanadas de Camarones. The hot little puffs of fried pastry stuffed with shrimp are tasty enough to make one wonder what they ever saw in mild or barbecue.
The rest of the week, the party continues. Featuring several ladies nights, the promoters know how to attract a crowd, whether it's simply for dinner and drinks or DJs and dancing. At Rincon, it often ends up becoming both in the same night.
The large space won't win any interior design awards, but it's homey and accessible. The focus here is on the people and on the party. It's almost impossible not to get caught up in the good time vibe.
Whether you're here to eat dinner (classic Latin American dishes ranging from $9-16), dance or socialize, Rincon de Tabasco is ready to party with you.
Average cost: $10-$20
