Known as the only predominantly gay and lesbian bar in Ravenswood, Scot's lacks the pizzazz of its Boystown rivals, opting instead for a relaxed, neighborhood feel. Walking into the bar, past the rainbow flag and neon martini that decorate the outside, one immediately notices the size of the space (small) and the artwork (plentiful).
With only a few tables at the front and back of the bar, Scot's makes the most of its narrow space with two bars and plenty of stools. The exposed brick walls are lined with artwork by local artists, which is supplemented by a massive Marilyn Monroe statue above the bar and the occasional rainbow decoration. Depending on what the customers want, the television sets play anything from sports events to American Idol. In those rare moments when the TV is off, the digital jukebox is usually blasting, with more than 200,000 songs available at the touch of a finger.
During the summer months, enjoy a complimentary barbeque on Sundays from noon to four. Regular specials include $2.50 domestic beers on Monday, $2 off martinis on Tuesday, $2 off cosmos on Wednesdays and $3.50 draft beer on Thursdays.
