 Probably the biggest little blues label in the country, Alligator Records has survived for over a quarter of a centruy under the guidance of Bruce Iglauer. The roster has featured blues luminaries such as Lonnie Brooks, Koko Taylor, Albert Collins, Son Seals, Kinsey Report, Robert Cray, Katie Webster, Elvin Bishop, Sugar Blue, and Luther Allison.  Started in 1972 as a one-man mail-order record company run by founder Bruce Iglauer, a Cincinnati native who frequented Chicago's South and West Side blues haunts. Delmark Records briefly hired Iglauer as a shipping clerk... Iglauer used $2,500 of his own money to record slide guitarist Hound Dog Taylor. P.O. Box 60234
