Guitarist Eric Noden, who regularly plays acoustic sets at Buddy Guy's Legends, recently released his debut 55 Highway (Diving Duck Records). He is a teacher at the Old Town School of Folk Music -- influences include Rev. Gary Davis and Big Bill Broonzy. Illinois Entertainer's blues critic Kevin Toelle says "Noden's command of classic pre-war styles is impressive, but the versatile musician also lends a personal style to his interpretations of tunes from the old masters... As a spiritual heir to Chicago blues guitarists of the '20s and '30s like Tampa Red and Big Bill Broonzy, this multi-talented acoustic artist fills an important niche in the city's mostly plugged-in blues scene."
He also sings pretty well and and plays the harmonica (in the style of Sonny Terry).
