| Long-running Wicker Park band has a new disc -- Revenge of the Flying Luttenbachers out on the local independent label Skin Graft. Current line-up features stalwart drummer and reed player Weasel Walters along with Chuck Falzone and Bill Pisarri. They've abandoned much of their early jazz roots (previous records have featured Jeb Bishop, Ken Vandermark, and Hal Russell) in favor of a more metal influenced direction. Officially born on December 6, 1992, the Flying Luttenbachers (with a lineup of Weasel Walter, Chad Organ and Hall Russell) were titled after Hal Russell's given name, Harold Russell Luttenbacher. Previous recordings have included Constructive Destruction (1994, Quinnah/ugEXPLODE), Destroy All Music (1995, ugEXPLODE), Live at the Middle East Cafe (1996 -- recorded 8/30/94, Bourgeouis Chimp). Gods of Chaos (ugEXPLODE/Skin Graft Records) is scheduled to be released during the fall of 1997. For more information, visit their website:
