gnomeattic (Pronunciation: nO-'ma-dik) is a Chicago based rock band. Drawing influences from their various scholastic and worldly experiences, the band synthesizes the cerebral and emotional into a sound that is unique, yet amazingly familiar.
In the previous few years, gnomeattic has successfully toured the East Coast and Midwest, released a full length album and various demos. In late 2005/early 2006, gnomeattic was on temporary hiatus as their drummer, Joe Block, was recently a contestant and finalist on Beauty and the Geek 2, which regularly aired to 5+ million people on the WB. The show provided great exposure for the band, having been mentioned in the Chicago Tribune, the Sun Times, Mancow’s Morning Madhouse (Q101: nationally syndicated), Eric and Kathy (101.9 The Mix: Chicago’s #1 morning show), WGN news and many local university publications.
gnomeattic has also been featured in the Herald News (Joliet, IL), the Buzz (Champaign, IL), Star Newspaper (Chicago, IL), the Sun-Times (Chicago, IL) as well as other various printed and online media. The band has also received airplay in the Chicago college markets, national college markets, and is played regularly on 107.1 The Planet in Champaign.
