| Originally from a small Mississippi town, Nellie Travis -- a blues singer with a soulful voice -- now calls Chicago home. The recipient of the New City People's Choice Entertainer of the Year in 1999, she has performed regularly in Chicago at venues like Kingston Mines, the Regal Theatre, and Koko Taylor's club, and opened for artists including Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Willie Clayton, Tyrone Davis, Artie White, Little Milton, Bobby Rush, and Bobby Blue Bland.
