Contrary to what its name may imply, The Loft is not lofty, swanky or even homey. Ala Carte Entertainment repackaged the second-floor digs of the former Alumni Club as the clubbier Loft in hopes of creating the catchall party atmosphere. However, inklings of tchotchke charm remain, like the substitute rock 'n' roll paraphernalia where team pennants used to be. Watch for The Clash album covers, lava lamps, a drum set and guitars looming over the bar, as well as a huge poster of Janet Jackson's face (plus an exposed breast next to it, a likely nod toward entertainment news).
