Pack your bags and board your flight across the Atlantic for a touch of Europe. Or instead, pile into your car and visit a Touch of Euro. No passport required, just an affinity for techno.
Euro begins where competing clubs in the area end, removing the clutter of too much seating near a vibrating dance floor (one of only three in the country) intensified with an outstanding sound system. Active smoke machines fog the room, while purple, yellow and peacock blue lasers beam. Exposed brick and ventilation blend with castle-esque features reminiscent of Goro's lair (think Mortal Kombat).
However, you won't battle any four-armed hybrids here, just a long line; a crowd of 300 fills fast. Economically sound specials help. Visit Wednesday (ladies night) and satisfy a date with $1 appletinis or cosmos. Blow things up on Fridays with $2 Jager bombs and get seven of your closest in on the best bottle-service offer in town: a $60 bottle of Sobieski (Poland's premium vodka) on Saturdays, for groups of seven plus. And just when you thought deals couldn't get any better, Latin Touch Thursdays offer 99-cent drinks and includes performances by Chicago's own PRism.
Well-known guest DJs Erik K, DJ Spin of B96 and DJ Markski assist in livening up the crowd. Shifting themes, like beach parties with real sand and Armani Exchange fashion shows, also keep regulars from getting restless. Whatever the function, attendees reflect those in River North’s scene: good-looking, tanned, picture happy and donned in flamingo pinks and Express jeans. No cover most nights; expect a $10 cover for big events. Plenty of available street parking surrounds the club.
