The new Nordic soundscape frontier, Huntsville is an ambient meditation in sweeping inertia, improvisation upon improvisation of quick finger picks and distorted percussion patter, kissed with a little Americana twang. Fitting enough for art-rock nerds on leave from their day job, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline and drummer Glen Kotche will join Huntsville, and elevate the energy something franticly endearing. They'll also tease their own more curiously erratic experimentations under the On Fillmore moniker, of which they're on their fourth record now, with bassist Darin Gray. (Gavin Paul)
