As a collective Odd Future has never been one to shy away from controversy. And although their critics have been adamantly opposed to their brashness, it’s nothing that hip-hop fans haven’t asked for—indirectly or not. Some say Odd Future is all about shock value, instigators of the things society deems as off limits, but so what—evolution isn’t supposed to be pretty. Their gallantry is a perfect remedy for stagnation, so Odd Future is exactly what hip-hop needs right now whether popular opinion stands or not. Some have compared them to Wu-tang, but that’s not giving them their just due, they’re from another galaxy all together. Their set at the Vic will be in celebration of the Camp Flog Gnaw tour, and it’s recommended you get there early as their shows almost always sell out. Be ready for any and everything. (J. Min)
