Why to go: The closing street party on Sunday (1-7 p.m. on Emerald Street by the Skylark) will feature a BMX Flatland Jam, bike polo lessons, a mechanic build-off, track sprints and skids and a competition of fixed gear and BMX tricks.
Additional info: The fest kicks off with Bikes Rock! at the Metro on Wednesday night, a concert featuring Glass Candy, Busdriver and Mike Simonetti. On Thursday, Joyride, a traveling art show, opens with a reception at MCA Warehouse (1747 W. Hubbard) from 6-10 p.m, and the annual scavenger hunt begins in Union Park (Ashland/Lake) at 5:30 p.m.
Films are shown on Friday and Saturday at Columbia College, 1154 S. Wabash (see the website for the full list of films and to buy tickets). Friday-night filmgoers should check out the Gold Sprints afterparty at the Hideout at 9 p.m., while all Saturday-night attendees will gain free entry to the Urban Velodrome Party at the Empty Bottle ($10 for everyone else) featuring E-Six & Roan battling Dan Oh & Them Jeans.
