What to expect: This 10th annual fest, held in historic Hamilton Park (and inside the Park District auditorium if it rains), brings together an eclectic mix of internationally acclaimed artists (including Englewood residents) to fill the park with one-of-a-kind compositions, creative improvisation and unique musical collaboration. The Festival was founded by Ernest "Khabeer" Dawkins to celebrate the living legacy of Jazz in Englewood and Chicago's South Side.
Why to go: This year's special guest is tenor saxophonist Houston Person, and the fest will also welcome six young Italian musicians as part of a collaboration with Punta Giara Cultural Association in Sardinia, Italy.
