What to expect: Two days of Irish Books, Arts and Music (get it?) at the Irish American Heritage Center, in celebration of the Celtic New Year. This family-friendly event includes book sales, live dance and theater, Halloween fun for the kids and even a multi-media presentation on Irish author Bram Stoker, creator of Dracula.
Additional info: There will be a $100 black-tie-optional kickoff dinner on Friday, October 30 from 6-11 p.m., featuring tons of live acts including Malachy McCourt. On Saturday and Sunday, guests can enjoy a full Irish breakfast beginning at 11 a.m. ($12 for adults, $6 for kids). Black 47 performs live at 7 p.m. on Saturday night ($20, available at the door or online) and Maura O'Connell takes the stage at 7 p.m. Sunday ($20).
