What to expect: This first-year fest is totally focused on the music; there will be five stages of sounds, including a Rock Stage presented by the Empty Bottle, an Electro Stage selected by the Congress Theater, a Punk Stage curated by MP Productions, a Folk Stage from the Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival folks and a Local Stage with talent from area schools and community residents. There will also be arts and crafts vendors, 20 restaurant booths, a family playground and more.

Why to go: Saturday's headliners include John Vanderslice and Future Rock, while the Sunday lineup is capped by Deals Gone Bad, The Methadones, Justin Townes Earle and Ezra Furman & the Harpoons.

Additional info: The Metronome Celebration will benefit the Logan Square Neighborhood Coalition, which will distribute proceeds to the Greater Goethe Neighborhood Association, the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Goethe School, Chase Elementary and a Sustainable Project Award that will help to provide a better life for area residents.
