What to expect: Fantastic food, fireworks and classic rock.
Why to go: A number of restaurants from Wheeling's famed "Restaurant Row" (it's got the most four and five-star restaurants of any suburb in the country) will set up booths for your tasting pleasure.
Additional info: The festival takes place in Park District Field between the Community Recreation Center and Village Hall. The annual 4th of July Parade kicks off at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening. Fireworks are at 9:30 p.m. There is a special area at the Wheeling Freedom Fest just for kids featuring games, activities, inflatable rides and special appearances by celebrities.
