Try not to come to Vas Foremost in a rush. Sure, this Logan Square liquor store is a convenient stop for those PBR, pinot and vodka staples, but for a true experience, you'll want to take a slow walk through the aisles.
Open for over 50 years, Vas Foremost has apparently learned what it is that people want in a liquor store. This fantastic emporium is stacked to the ceiling with an obscenely large array of wines, liquors and beers, each impressive in its own way.
The extensive liquor selection offers everything from super premium to well, best embodied in the shelf-wide altars of vodka and bourbon. The ample wines crowd the center of the store, creating massive rows of worldwide varieties.
But the real star here is the beer. Suds lovers will find themselves staggering along the aisles like George Romero extras, mumbling the names of hundreds of brews. All of the classic big-name brews are here, surrounded by craft and imported beers from every part of the globe. There are even a couple coolers with a few hundred different single beers available.
And if there's something that the store lacks—beer, liquor or otherwise—just ask. Vas Foremost accepts requests, and while there are no guarantees yours will be met, one look around this place tells you that it's all about the extra mile.
