Offering an array of customized candy and chocolate trays, baskets and plates for every holiday and event under the sun, this Gold Coast candy shop does all the work while you savor the sweet, chocolaty success.

Of course, even if you're not planning a party or gift, there are plenty of other reasons to visit Mr. Kite's. For example, it's Tuesday. The sky is blue. Heck, maybe you just feel like it. The point is, you really don't need a reason to enjoy a selection of the molded and specialty chocolates, or a waffle cone stuffed with a scoop of blue moon or cookie dough or any other of 16 Cedar Crest ice cream flavors.

Mr. Kite's also offers fresh caramel, cheese, and butter popcorn and an array of cookies and gummy candies. The s'mores treat is one of the most popular items and comes in regular, peanut butter and caramel varieties. The dipped pretzels also draw a crowd: choose from regular white, dark, or milk chocolate covered, or try one encrusted with Reese's Pieces or Oreo chunks.

Formerly located a few blocks north on State Street, Mr. Kite's new home is a cozy below-ground shop tucked in the Gold Coast. It's a perfect place to stop for a treat in the midst of shopping the Rush and Oak boutique strip. But you'll want to make sure you cover more shopping ground after you indulge. Despite the store's high-flying name, the goodies at Mr. Kite's aren't exactly lighter than air.
