You'll still need to head to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's for the serious foodstuffs, but you can load up on plenty of organic snacks, vitamins and toiletries at this neighborhood co-op. The space is actually a lot bigger than it looks from outside, but the open room could stand a few more stocked shelves. The products it already carries, though, are some of the best in sustainable goods: Pure honey, hemp flaxseed bars and homemade granola top the list.
The middle of True Nature houses a small juice bar where you can slurp down some wheatgrass for about $4. In addition to a little protein boost, the bar also has a small food menu, including homemade veggie burgers for the pocket-breaking price of $7.99 and a selection of farm-fresh salads. There's also a stash of raw truffles ($1.99) that are almost large enough to double as baseballs. True Nature has a few chairs for lounging around while you devour your feel-good treats.
