Editorial Review of Allyu Spa

It's easy to feel peaceful as you walk through Allyu's quiet, serene front room and see the view of the river just west of the spa. As you check in, admire the countertops, made from dead trees from Wisconsin (no new lumber was used in the space). Walk a few steps, and trade your shoes for some comfy flip-flops and your clothes for a robe.

Services: Whether it's a massage, a facial, acupuncture, meditation or a crystal workshop that you're after, you're bound to find something that'll soothe your mind and body here. Take a peek behind a curtain, and you'll find a quiet, dimly lit meditation area. Allyu also has six massage rooms, three rooms for facials and waxing and one room for acupuncture. Massages are the most popular service, and the spa tries to keep services as holistic and natural as possible. All products used during services are as natural and earth-friendly as possible, like Astara, a raw botanical skincare line used during facial services.

Extras: The spa was built by many local artists and designers. It also has an infrared sauna, which reportedly gets rid of more of a person's toxins than regular saunas do. Many customers sit in the sauna before or after getting a facial to open up their pores. In addition, customers can bring their iPods to use in the rooms' iPod docks. Locally made candles and soaps are for sale in the front room. Also, hot sellers are Acupeds, which supposedly remove toxins from your feet as you sleep (which is why they will have turned black by morning).
