The remarkable revival of the Blackstone has bought back from the dead one of Chicago's old legends. Once the retreat of movie stars, royalty and gangsters, it has been meticulously restored to its original grandeur. This 21-story hotel was built from 1908 to 1910 and designed by Marshall and Fox. In 1998, the Blackstone Hotel was designated as a Chicago Landmark.

The hotel houses an unspoiled blend of conventional architecture and modern design, highlighted by contemporary video art and over 1,400 works by local artists. Luxurious accommodations and amenities enhance each of the 332 guest rooms and 4 suites, and there's also 11,000 square feet of event space.

The signature restaurant within the hotel is the Mercat a La Planxa, which serves Spanish tapas fare. It features a standard selection of tapas dishes from cut-to-order charcuterie and cheeses to fresh seafood, steaks and chops, all inspired by Spain's Catalan region.
