It's hard not to feel intimidated or worse, unintelligent, when you gaze at the sheer bulk of books found in this subterranean store. It would take a number of lifetimes to browse through everything you'd want to read. A branch of the Seminary Co-op, this bookstore is one of Chicago’s finest and should satisfy any craving. Five rooms cover any subject imaginable, and special sections of Chicago books and a rack of recently reviewed books help make browsing simple. If you're going to be a return customer, membership in the Co-op has its benefits, including a 10 percent discount on future purchases. Just look for the small sign peeking out above the door.
