NOW CLOSED...Formerly: If you're Polish there's no better way show your pride show than by taking a trip to this south side polka mecca. If you aren't of the Polish persuasion but polka is your passion there's no better place than The Baby Doll Polka Club to prove it. Open since 1955 (with a move to its current location in 1981) this beer hall located across the street from the south side¦s busiest airport (a theme the bar's decor continues on the inside as well) offer a distinctly Chicago experience you're not likely to get anywhere else in the city. You can dance to the Polka beats of live bands seven nights a week, including the club owner's own group, Eddie Korosa Jr and His Boys From Illinois (probably pronounced Illinoize). The club takes it¦s name from Eddie Korosa, Sr. whose song "The Baby Doll Polka" was a hit in 1948. If you think you can cut a rug with the best of the over 50 crowd you better think twice, it's not so easy when you're on their turf. (Chris Auman)
