Colosseum's humble exterior doesn't quite live up to its colossal name, but you won't care once you get inside, where the drinks are plentiful and the environment is oddly and pleasingly tropical for a bar in the Midwest.
The main draw here is the beer garden, populated with waitstaff wearing grass skirts and passing out leis to eager drinkers. Liquor flows freely at two tiki bars while guests enjoy live music, play bags and even chug beer bongs that are strung up from a model lifeguard post.
Colosseum regularly gives away free drink packages for those who sign up in advance. You can invite up to 20 of your booze-hound friends to take advantage of free beer and mixed drinks for an hour and a half.
Don't fret over what to wear. From club clothes to jeans, all attire is acceptable as this place is not just a laid back sports bar. Head to the back and you'll find a multi-leveled club (Maximus) that also connects to a neighboring restaurant and music venue (Capone's and The Pearl Room).
