(Thompson has) a gift for conceiving arrangements and solos of stunning technical and emotional range." Members include Bill McFarland, Edwin Williams, Steve Berry, and Ray Riperton (all on trombone), Ron Bridgewater (tenor saxophone), Gerald Powell (tuba), David Spencer, Kenny Anderson, Steve Hawkins and Philip Perkins (trumpets), bassist Harrison Bankhead, drummer Dana Hall and percussionists Richard Lawrence and Greg Penn.
