| One of the leaders of the '50s folk revival, Gibson recently (1996) passed away. A regular on "Arthur Godfrey Show" and "Hootenanny" two network television shows, he helped popularize the 12-string guitar, and introduced Joan Baez and Judy Collins to folk audiences. His The Courtship of Carl Sandburg, a 1984 musical play about the American poet, was performed at both the Apollo Theater Center and the Northlight Theater. For awhile, he ran a restaurant (Hobson's Choice) on Clark St, just south of Foster Ave.
