| Excellent local jazz trumpeter's career has spanned four decades -- touring with Jack Teagarden, Tex Beneke, and the Modernaires; conductor and featured soloist with Peggy Lee; recording as a studio musician in over 7000 recording sessions, with artists like Ramsey Lewis, Curtis Mayfield, Jerry Butler, Natalie Cole, Alice Cooper, The Buckinghams, and others. He's also performed with Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Judy Garland, Liza Minelli, Mel Torme, Lena Horne, Al Jarreau, Barry Manilow, The carpenters, Bill Conti, Harry Belafonte, Nancy Wilson, Johnny Carson, James Brown, Maynard Ferguson, Benny Carter, Doc Severinsen, Roy Eldridge, Claude Thornhill, Skitch Henderson, Buddy Morrow, Clark Terry, Jaco Pastorius, Marian McPartland, Art Hodes, Barrett Deems, Ira Sullivan, Vic Damone, Richie Cole, Maureen McGovern, and Bernadette Peters. He's also produced 6 CD recordings of his own music, much of available on Chicago's own Southport Records.
