| The singer and leader of seminal Chicago house ensemble Ten City, Stingily has now embarked on a solo career. After producing singer Kim English's record on Nervous, he himself signed with the label (who, in contrast with his earlier major label experiences, was happy to let him make pure house music), released several huge hits in the genre (including "Get Up," which itself sold 300,000 copies worldwide, and the recent cover of Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)"). On his debut solo disc, The Purist, Stingily collaborates with some influential producers: Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and Masters at Work.
