| Leader of the Chicago Redhots, Cadillac Dave grew up in DuPage County, and stayed in Chicago at the age of 20 when his family moved to Florida. He attended Columbia College during the day, performed at the Checkerboard Lounge from 9pm-1:30am, and then worked as a painter at the Mariott Hotel on Michigan Ave. until 7am. At the Checkerboard, he met legendary harpist James Cotton, Junior Wells, Left Zizz, Little Milton, Lonnie Brooks and others.
