| Northwestern University adjunct faculty member is a Chicago Symphony Orchestra (1989-) violist and a member of the Galena Chamber Ensemble. A member of a musical family (her parents, sister -- assistant concertmaster of the Houston Symphony --, two brothers -- one is a Tucson Symphony cellist, the other a Houston freelance violinist -- are all professional musicians) was former principal viola of the Aspen Chamber Orchestra, and a member of the Dallas and Seattle symphony orchestras and a founding member of the Sonora and Tesoro string quartets. Her other Chicago appearances include Concerts Under the Dome, Ravinia's Dame Myra Hess Series, and the North Park College Series, the Chicago Symphony Chamber Music Series, as well as Northwestern University's Brahms Festival. Brubaker received her BA from the Julliard School after attending the University of Arizona.
