Getting his start doing house parties in the Baltimore/DC area, DJ Trew transplanted himself onto the Chicago scene in early 1998. His sets include funk (pre- and post- James Brown, Afro, Latin, Brazilian), hip-hop (old-school classics and new-school would-be classics), soul (modern, boogie and sweet), Rare Groove, Electro, Bmore, Acid House/Jack and b-boy friendly drum breaks and much more.
While not behind the 1s and 2s, he runs the Hiphop, Rare Groove, and Downtempo online music publication, Ground Lift Magazine.
