| Washington D.C.-born violist joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1988 after a bachelors degree in violin from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra (assistant principal viola), Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic (assistant principal), Metropolitan Opera Orchestra (assistant principal), Toronto Symphony Orchestra again (this time as principal viola), and finally as principal viola of the New York City Opera Orchestra.
