| Blujazz recording artist and jazz vocalist, Elaine Dame, has been performing in and around Chicago and the midwest for the last ten years, at such venerable jazz venues as Pops for Champagne, Andy's Jazz Club, Katerina's, The Pump Room , Pete Miller's, Green Dolphin Street, The Drake Hotel, and The Fairmont Hotel (where she enjoyed an eighteen month engagement), to name but a few. Here's what Craig Cooper, Musical Director of Pops for Champagne, had to say about her: "Elaine simply radiates from the stage, with an obvious passion for what she does, and more importantly, an openly expressed enjoyment of the very nature of the process. She is one of a rare group of singers who treats her instrument as just that, and so is able to perform with her band istead of just in front of them."
Dame is celebrating the release of her debut album, "Comes Love," on Chicago's own blujazz label. The recording features an all star Chicago rhythm section with pianist, Jeremy Kahn (recently featured on Marian McPartland's "Piano Jazz"), bassist Rob Amster (Kurt Elling's long time sideman), and drummer Tim Davis, as well as legendary violinist, Johnny Frigo. It was the most added CD on The College Music Journal Jazz Chart, was in the top 100 CD's in the US on The Jazz Week NPR Radio Jazz Chart, was played on over 200 radio stations world wide and was released to wide industry acclaim: For more information, visit their website: http://www.elainedame.com
