Generation Hex

Generation HeX was established in early 2005 by a group of musicians who have spent most of their lives on stage, playing just about every style and genre of music imaginable. The intent was to offer their audiences a consistently professional show that combined the best in: song selection; performance and staging; originality of arrangements; and excellent vocals and musicianship, with the emphasis on FUN. This group of musicians has, over the years, played to many thousands of people, at venues ranging from local bars and clubs to major outdoor festivals, including ChicagoFest 1981. Coming from highly popular local bands “Rumorz”, “My Sacrifice”, “Final Faze”, and "The Eddie Orbit Band" (among many others), their level of experience is impressive. Generation HeX has the unique ability to put their own spin on a broad range of material, keeping the spirit of the music yet making every song their own. Their songlist covers everything from arena rock (70’s to current) to pop and dance favorites, and all points in between. Shows can be tailored to any audience and function, and the dance floor is guaranteed to be packed! For some larger shows and corporate events, they augment the lineup with an additional keyboard player and utilize an expanded songlist, and are currently working on original material for their debut CD.

Band members: Angelo Negrette- Lead vocals, percussion, guitar, bass guitar. Angelo has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene for many years. Recent projects include stints with Rhythmfish, The Eddie Orbit Band, and Badd Attitude, as well as many other stage and studio projects doing both cover and original material. He is an energetic and polished frontman who knows how to work a crowd. Angelo is from Blue Island, IL.

Jimisix (aka Jim Karones)- Lead guitar, keyboards, vocals. Jim has been a professional musician since age 13, having started piano at 4 and guitar at 7. He was the founder and a principle songwriter/arranger for Final Faze (formerly Equinox) in the late 70s. He joined Rumorz for Chicagofest 1981, and remained a member in various incarnations through the 80s and 90s. An active studio and stage musician, he is also a music teacher and published music journalist. Jim is based out of Oak Lawn, IL.

Greg Pender- Bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, vocals, percussion. Greg has been an integral part of the Chicago area music scene for many years. His early experience with Papa St. John (who opened for Styx for over two years) gave him his first taste of the limelight. As lead singer and guitarist for Rumorz, he played throughout the Midwest to many thousands of fans. Recruited by his brother Jack for the Creed tribute band My Sacrifice, Greg put a few more notches in his guitar strap. He has also been active in the studio, and has released CDs as a solo artist and collaborator. Greg resides in Orland Park, IL.

Ed Nadess- Drums, percussion, vocals. Ed spent many years as the pulse and sparkplug for quite a few area cover and original bands. From his early days in Rocket, through the many years driving the beat for Rumorz, Eddie combines finesse and power into a package that defines Groove. Aside from his duties with Generation HeX, he is also an in-demand percussionist and guest drummer for some of the most successful acts throughout the Chicagoland area. He is also a virtual encyclopedia of musical knowledge. Although originally from Chicago, Eddie now parks his Harley in Tinley Park, IL.
