| Vocalist Jackie Scott spent a good 20 years training her pipes in gospel choirs, before diving into blues with her backing band, The Housewreckers. Since their inception, the crew has shared the stage with Nellie Travis at 2007's Chicago Blues Festival, and garnered opening slots for the likes of Taj Mahal.
With most of their songs drawn from a stock of classic covers ranging from Ike & Tina Turner to Marvin Gaye, Scott and The Housewreckers are essentially a tribute band, paying respect to golden-era R&B and soul. Though the Virginia native, along with her six-piece crew (bass, drums, rhythm guitarist, harp, lead guitarist, keys), is currently writing and recording new material in the city that launched her career.
