| This 20th century music specialist is the assistant composer-in-residence of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (which commissioned a work for the 1996-97 season) and an associate professor at Northwestern University with a PhD from Harvard. His works have been performed by the National Symphony Orchestra, Nederlands Radio Filharmonisch, Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Sendai Philharmonic, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, London Sinfonitetta, Arditti String Quartet, New Music Consort, Het Trio and Nieuw Ensemble.
