| This elder bluesman came of age in the Maxwell Street neighborhood, as Chicago blues was being transformed from a flavor of sophisticated flavor of jazz into the characteristic gritty Chicago blues. Influenced by B.B. King and Louis Jordan, Thomas' best tunes are slow blues and agressive shuffles.
