| Marilynn Claire, known as the "Queen of B Flat Blues" continues to sing the blues the way she knows best – and pleasing crowds of people as she branches out into a multi-colored career. Having “cut” her first tape entitled, simply, “Marilynn Claire” and more recently her first CD, aptly named, “In Love With the Blues” and doing backup vocals on Bluesman Billy King's CD entitled “Life Ain't Easy” her fame is spreading. Fans who would like to purchase Marilynn's CD can do so through SoPro’s web site. Marilynn appears regularly in the SoPro Music Easter and Thanksgiving Blues Revues. She recently recorded background vocals for Patrick Doody's newly released "Led Zeppelin Medley" and is currently recording a new CD which should be out in the summer of 2004. Local artists such as Patrick Doody and Fernando Jones list her as an up-and-coming star on their personal web sites. Marilynn starred as a sultry diva in “Blue Eyed Blues,” an original and quite novel blues play by playwright and songwriter Fernando Jones, which ran for six successful months in Chicago.
Marilynn Claire is a name very familiar with – and very well respected by – aficionados of the Chicagoland nightclub and musical entertainment scenes. Trained in the vocal arts, and considered as one who never disappoints an audience, she continues to perform with some of the top area musicians who can vouch for her professionalism and uniqueness.
