| Appointed assistant principal oboe of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1972 by Sir Georg Solti (while still a student at Northwestern University), Michael Henoch recently celebrated his 26th year in that position. He is also the artistic co-director and has performed with the Chicago Chamber Musicians since its inception (though he only joined the group formally in 1990). While earning a bachelors and masters degree, he performed as a member of the orchestra of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Since making his Carnegie Hall debut in 1970 (as a soloist with the New York String Orchestra), he has appeared throughout North America and Europe, and participated in some of America's most prestigious music festivals.
